There isn't just one kind of mulberry silk.
One of the biggest misconceptions about silk is that if a label says "100% mulberry silk," every product will feel and perform the same.
In reality, that's far from true.
Mulberry silk can vary dramatically in texture, weight, weave, finish, and consistency. Two fabrics may both be genuine mulberry silk, yet create completely different wearing experiences.
That's why, at SILKSER, we never choose a fabric based on a specification sheet alone.
We always start with one simple question:
Would we actually want to wear this ourselves?
Technical specifications matter.
But before we look at certifications or fabric weight, we pay attention to something much simpler:
How does it feel?
Does it drape naturally?
Does it feel smooth without being slippery?
Does it have enough structure to keep its shape while remaining comfortable?
Luxury isn't just measured in numbers.
It's something you notice the moment the fabric touches your hands.
Then we look at consistency.
A beautiful fabric sample isn't enough.
What matters is whether the next production batch feels exactly the same.
Consistency is one of the hardest things to maintain with natural fibers.
That's why we work with suppliers who can repeatedly deliver the same standard—not just once, but over time.
When a customer orders today and another customer orders six months later, they should receive the same experience.
We pay attention to certifications—but they aren't the whole story.
OEKO-TEX® certification is important to us because it helps ensure fabrics have been tested for harmful substances.
It's one of the factors we consider.
But certification alone doesn't automatically create a beautiful silk garment.
Construction, finishing, sewing quality, and overall craftsmanship matter just as much.
A great dress is never the result of one single decision.
It's the result of many small decisions made well.
We also think about how silk will be worn.
A silk pillowcase and a silk dress don't need exactly the same fabric.
Some pieces benefit from a lighter, more fluid silk.
Others require slightly more structure to achieve the right silhouette.
Instead of searching for one "perfect" fabric, we look for the right fabric for the right purpose.
