Why We Always Ask for Your Height and Weight Before Shipping
It surprises many customers.
One of the questions we receive most often is:
"Why do you ask for my height and weight after I place an order?"
Some customers even wonder if it's really necessary.
The short answer is: yes.
And there's a reason behind it.
Silk behaves differently from stretch fabrics.
Most of our dresses are made from 100% mulberry silk.
Unlike synthetic fabrics, silk has very little stretch.
That means the right size isn't just about your bust or waist.
Height, body proportions, and even where the waistline sits can completely change how a dress looks when worn.
We've learned this from real customers.
After helping hundreds of customers choose the right size, we noticed something interesting.
Many returns weren't caused by poor quality.
They happened because the dress simply didn't suit the customer's proportions.
A dress that looks perfect on someone who is 5'8" may feel too long on someone who is 5'2".
Likewise, two customers with the same bust measurement may need different sizes because of their height or body shape.
A few extra messages can prevent weeks of disappointment.
That's why we sometimes send a follow-up email asking for your:
- Height
- Weight
- Bust measurement (when needed)
It adds a little extra work for both of us.
But if it helps you receive a dress that fits beautifully the first time, we believe it's worth it.
It's not about selling more.
In fact, there are times when we recommend a different size—even if it's not the one originally ordered.
Sometimes we even suggest that a particular style may not be the best choice for someone's body shape.
We believe honesty creates better long-term relationships than simply completing a sale.
